Madame Alexander Dolls
Below are pictures and descriptions of my Alexander dolls.
Left: 1965 Madame Alexander Alice in Wonderland #1452. She is 14" tall. She is fully jointed, has rooted blonde hair and working sleepy blue eyes, and beautiful face color. She has the Mary Ann face. She is mint with original variation hang tag, wearing original clothes: a blue cotton dress, white pinafore, white socks, and black shoes. The clothing is intact. The doll is marked Alexander © 1965 on the back of her head.
Middle: 1965 Madame Alexander Alice in Wonderland #1452. She is 14" tall, and is from the Literature and Classic Series and was produced beginning in 1966. She is fully jointed, has rooted blonde hair and working sleepy blue eyes, and beautiful face color. She has the Mary Ann face. She is mint with original hang tag, wearing original clothes: a blue cotton dress, white pinafore, white socks, and black shoes. The clothing is intact. The doll is marked Alexander © 1965 on the back of her head. She has I. Magnin tags. This is the Alice my Great Aunt Occo gave to me when I was a child.
Right: 1990 Madame Alexander Alice in Wonderland #1552.This is a re-issue of the original doll. She is 14" tall. She is fully jointed, has rooted blonde hair and working sleepy blue eyes, and beautiful face color. She has the Mary Ann face. She is mint with original hang tag, wearing original clothes: a blue cotton dress, white ruffled pinafore, white socks, and black shoes. The clothing is intact. The doll is marked Alexander © 1965 on the back of her head.
1963 Madame Alexander Little Huggums - This is the replacement that my parents bought after my original "Doris" didn't survive the washing machine when I was about 2 years old. She is 11" tall and dated 1963 on her neck. These are replacement clothes, the cap is to hide her baldness. Apparently, I preferred to carry her by her hair...
1996 Madame Alexander I Dream of Jeannie Doll set #79604- Limited Edition FAO Scwartz exclusive from 1996. Rare and retired. Comes with space outfit and Jeannie's bottle. Dolls are 8" tall.
1960 Madame Alexander Nurse Joanie stands approx. (36") tall.. Stamped on the back of her neck is "ALEXANDER 19c59". She has thick, strawberry-blond rooted hair. She has beautiful "flirty" eyes. (They go back and forth). Wearing original tagged dress, apron and cap. Shoes and panties are replacements.
1959 Madame Alexander Mary Bel Gets Well is “The Doll That Gets Well.” She is 16” tall. #1670. She has clear blue eyes with perfect lashes. Mary Bel normally has brown eyes, but this was purchased from the original owner and came from the factory with blue eyes. Open/closed mouth. Jointed waist. Marked on back of head Mme. Alexander, in circle with 1958 (Upside 2-5). Has two-piece snap-on arm cast, two-piece snap-on leg cast, crutches, adhesive tape, gauze bandages and sunglasses. Also has original pink bodysuit with blue ribbon, trimmed in lace and matching robe with pink ribbon accent at the neckline and trimmed in matching lace.
